"Easy Steer" Locker
Together with Trac Tech, Inc., make of the
World Famous Detroit Locker for trucks, High Lifter is
introducing a fully automatic, 100% locking differential that is
both durable and speed sensitive to permit differential action
in turns. Using no switches, cables, air or external control,
the Detroit Gearless Locker is designed for the harsh
environments of mud, water, rocks, and other demanding trail
hazards.
This new Gearless Locker is based on Trac
Tech's proven gearless technology. This technology provides
easier steering than spool type locked differentials. Instead of
gears, it is based on a unique high strength steel disc assembly
which allows one wheel to spin faster in a turn but not stop
spinning.
While driving straight, the differential is
locked providing full power to each front wheel. When cornering,
the differential allows the outside wheel to travel faster at
ground speed. The inside wheel continues to drive the ATV with
full power during the turn. This unit allows both front wheels
to be always locked together. There is never a condition where
one wheel spins while the other is stopped! This locker steers
amazingly EASY!
